Save Money on Your Pilot Logbook Subscription - A Crisis Response

Update: We've now upgraded our industry-leading free trial so you will receive 350 flight hours of flight logging or 6 months calendar time, whichever is most beneficial to you! Our import options have expanded to include mccPILOTLOG and the AIMS HTML logbook file: See our post on the Spring 2020 release of AvionLog.

Pilots are facing unprecedented challenges and some of the AvionLog team are feeling your pain too. In our own small way, we want to help all pilots save some money. Use our 350 flight hour free trial and transfer your electronic logbook into AvionLog. Your flight hours will be safe with our backup capability. When you’re busy flying again you can export back to your old logbook provider. All of this is at no cost or obligation and with our full support. Currently, we import in mccPILOTLOG and LogTen Pro formats and will help import them in any other format you want… just contact us for help: app-support@avionlog.com.

Pilots are facing unprecedented challenges during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Disease outbreak with the worst hit airlines grounding entire fleets and laying of 90%+ staff. Some of the AvionLog team are also facing those same challenges with you. We’ve been thinking of any way to help you out during this difficult time and while it may be small, every little helps.

If you have a current electronic pilot logbook subscription we’ve found a way to save you some cash.

How Do I Save Money With My Pilot Logbook During Coronavirus?

Note: The free trial period has been updated with V1.1 meaning you're always automatically on the best free trial, either 350 hours or 6 months. AvionLog will now automatically change you to the one that ensures you can log for the longest period free.

AvionLog already has a very long free trial period. There’s two choices after you download the app, 350 flight hours with an unlimited time period or 6 months with an unlimited flight hour period. With the current crisis it’s likely most pilots aren’t flying more than 700 hours a year, and many aren’t flying at all.

  1. Choose the 350 flight hours free trial.
  2. Export your logbook from your current app.
  3. Import to AvionLog (at present we can import from AIMS, LogTen Pro and mccPILOTLOG.
  4. Backup your logbook to DropBox and Box via AvionLog’s backup in settings.

Be sure to cancel any ongoing subscriptions with your current provider.

Once this crisis is over and should you choose to go to another provider, we will happily help you transfer your logbook back.

We’re providing this service at no cost, in the hope we can contribute just a little, during these tough times.

Where Can I Change My Free Trial Period?

Settings > General Info and choose your new free trial.

Will This Option Continue After The Coronavirus Crisis?

We’re not sure just yet. We will keep you updated in this post.
