What data do we collect?

While Using the AvionLog Software Application (the ‘app’)

During use of the app we collect data on usage times, software bugs, crashes, user generated feedback, upgrade to paid services ratios, name, email address, app specific log files and other anonymous data relating to app usage statistics.

During use of the app we also collect device specific data including what you have named your device (e.g. Mike’s iPhone), the Unique ID of your device and the Model of your device. This data is collected by a service called Bugfender for the purpose of general diagnostics about the functioning of the application including where and when an error might have occurred. Backup and synchronisation capabilities rely on third party services. You will need to sign allow sharing of data and settings entered in AvionLog. Your data may be stored or passed through these companies:

For customer service purposes we may request and gather your personal information that allows us to contact you in the following ways: via email, phone, a messaging service, social media or at a mailing address.

While Using the AvionLog.com Website.

During your use of AvionLog.com we collect and process the following data:
  • Your name, email address and mailing preferences when you sign up for newsletters, marketing emails or email alerts.
  • All information contained in a voluntarily customer survey or feedback provided via email, on our website or on social media.
  • How you use emails sent to you - for example, whether you open them and which links you click on.
  • Your IP address and the type of browser you used when you visited AvionLog.com.

Why We Need Your Data

We gather the data in order to:
  • allow users of the AvionLog to benefit from certain app capabilities provided by third parties,

What We Do With Your Data

Data generated during app usage that you choose to share with us, is used for the purpose of enhancing the app. Synchronised data may be accessible to our software development team. It will only be accessed to fix corrupted or erroneous data.

Device data is used to identify you as a user whereby you choose to work with us on a software bug/issue you may be facing. Diagnostics data is used anonymously to enhance the application. Device model data is used to understand what device models AvionLog is used on to help us optimize the application.

Name and email address data provided for newsletters, marketing emails or email alerts will only be used for that reason and will not be passed to a third party.

Where data is provided for customer service purposes it will only be used for that purpose and only by the least number of people possible to satisfy your query or complaint.

Feedback will be stored and processed for the purpose of further app development or enhancement. Where possible, and in most cases, feedback will be anonymised.

Your data will not be sold, rented or shared with any other third parties with the following exception; we will share your data if we become required to do so by law - for example, by court order.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We will keep your data for as long as required to provide you with the services or ongoing communications you have requested or purchased from us.

Email subscription data will be kept until you unsubscribe. Publicly available feedback will be kept until such time as we no longer require its use. Private feedback data will be kept no longer than two years and, unless specifically required, will be maintained anonymously. Access log data to AvionLog.com will be deleted after 90 days.

Children’s Privacy Protection

Our product and website is targeted at professionally qualified adults. As such no person under the age of 13 is intentionally targeted as a potential customer and we therefore do not intentionally collect or maintain data about anyone under the age of 13.

Where We Process and Store Your Data

For in-app functionality your data is processed and stored on servers owned and operated by third parties: Google, Box and DropBox. Links to their privacy policies are contained at another place within this document.

Data stored and processed in your use of AvionLog.com website and AvionLog app are stored within the EuropeanvEconomic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and the United States of America and may be passed between these regions. In addition to these regions, customer service data may be processed by customer service providers at various locations globally. These locations may change from time to time. How We Protect Your Data

While using the AvionLog app your data is held or processed by the mentioned third parties who are responsible for maintaining your data security while they handle it. We select third party providers who we believe to be responsible companies.

Data held within our organisation is made accessible only to those who need it specifically to perform their roles. Your data is protected by use of appropriate password policies, and by keeping your data in as few places as possible. Where possible all data is anonymised.
